This self drive gives you the freedom to travel at your own pace, stopping whenever you wish. On this holiday you visit the main cities, attractions and the Kruger, staying in charming and characterful guest-houses and lodges. It truly gives you a taste of the real South Africa.

The price per person varies between £1,998 (May - Sept '09) and £2,250 (Rest of 2009 excluding Christmas and Easter). This is based on the best priced flights and the accommodation listed. Should these not be available, the price will increase.

This is a private tour (minimum 2 people). It can depart on any day you wish (subject to availability).

Full itinerary:

Day 1
Depart the UK.

Day 2
Arrive Johannesburg and catch a connecting flight to Skukuza airport. You will be met and then start your trip with the drive to the Kruger National Park.

Day 3
Kruger National Park looking for the Big 5 in one of the most famous National Parks in the world.

Day 4
Explore the Kruger National Park using its excellent network of roads, through varying types of terrain.

Day 5
Fly to Durban. Rest of the day free to explore the city and its famous Botanical Gardens.

Day 6
Free day in Durban.

Day 7
Fly to Port Elizabeth at the start of the Garden Route. Pick up another car at and drive for 30 minutes to your accommodation situated in a small Nature Reserve.

Day 8
Drive to Knysna. Rest of the day free to explore the small town or lagoon.

Day 9
Day at leisure.

Day 10
Drive to the small coastal town of Hermanus, famous for whale-watching. There is even a town crier to ring a bell and shout whenever one is spotted.

Day 11
Drive to Cape Town, exploring the famous Winelands as you go.

Day 12
Free to explore Cape Town, one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Day 13
Free in Cape Town or to explore Cape Province.

Day 14
Drop car off at Cape Town airport in time for your flight home.

Day 15
Arrive UK
